Pilates

Developed in the 1920s, Pilates was designed to promote functional and sustainable movement patterns, with a strong focus on deep core strength. By combining controlled breathwork with precise movement, Pilates engages both the smaller stabilising muscles and the primary movers of the body.

At Strength Clinic Academy Singapore, Pilates is not just exercise; it is a method that supports injury recovery, improves posture, enhances mobility, and builds lasting strength. It is an effective cross training practice for activities like running, weightlifting, and team sports, and is highly beneficial for pre- and postnatal clients due to its low-impact, core focused approach.

We offer both Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates, ensuring clients can train with variety, challenge, and progression under expert guidance.

Our Two Formats

Reformer Pilates

The Reformer uses a spring-resistance system to control load, assist movement, and increase range of motion. It is highly adaptable, making it effective for clients at any stage of recovery or training. At SCA, Reformer sessions are structured to provide progressive challenge, with load and complexity adjusted as the client develops.

Best for: injury rehabilitation, return to sport, athletes, clients with chronic pain or postural issues.

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates develops core strength, body awareness, and movement control using bodyweight and gravity. It builds the neuromuscular foundation that transfers directly into daily function and sport. Mat sessions at SCA are structured and coached, not drop-in classes.

Best for: building movement foundations, postural correction, cross-training, clients new to structured movement.

What We Offer:

Clinical Pilates

Addresses musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Tailored to individual needs and guided by our physiotherapists, this therapeutic approach focuses on improving core strength, stability, flexibility, and overall movement patterns. It also aids in injury recovery, enhances functional movement, and promotes long-term physical well-being.

Dynamic Pilates

An energetic class targeting the entire body with a mix of mat and standing exercises, often incorporating equipment. This session boosts strength, endurance, and coordination.

Pre and Postnatal

Tailored for mothers and mothers-to-be, these sessions build confidence, strengthen the pelvic floor and core, and ensure safe progression during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Clients also benefit from being part of our supportive motherhood community.

 Foundational Pilates

A slow, mindful session focusing on alignment, core activation, and pelvic stability. Perfect for beginners or those recovering from injury who want to build a strong foundation.
